2.Rokid AR
Overseas Study Trip to the UK Easter Program
I recently took 17 students to the UK for an Easter program as part of my overseas study work.
Long Flights
We flew via Singapore on both the way there and back, which made for some of the longest flights of my life.
Haneda to Singapore: 7.5 hours
Singapore to London: 14.5 hours
With a 4-hour transit in between, it was a very long journey.
In-Flight Entertainment
To make the most of the long flights, I brought the following items:
Sanwa Supply Bluetooth Transmitter for TV: This device allowed me to connect my Bluetooth earphones to the in-flight entertainment system.
Rokid AR Glasses: These glasses were amazing! When connected to my laptop, they created a large screen in front of my eyes. I was able to watch the entire season of “The Three-Body Problem” on Netflix. The glasses can also be connected to tablets and smartphones, but an adapter is required.
The Rokid AR Glasses are quite expensive to buy (around 70,000 yen), so I rented them for a month for 5,000 yen.
Jet Lag
I’ve been back in Japan for three days now, but I’m still a little bit jet-lagged.
Other Highlights of the Trip
In addition to the long flights and in-flight entertainment, there were many other highlights of the trip. Here are just a few:
Visiting historical landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, London Eye
Making new friends from all over the world
Overall, the trip was a great success.
The students had a wonderful time learning about British culture and history, and they also made some great memories. I’m already looking forward to summer trip!
