I. BUSINESS CONTEXT: Business context and operational challenges
Japan is one of the Key Markets, standing as a strategic position for CHANEL. It’s a very challenging and demanding market with a complicated regulation and legal infrastructure, complex trade partnership and aggressive competitors.
CHANEL Japan operates business with 3 business divisions; Fashion, Fragrance & Beauty, Watch & Fine Jewelry.
For F&BP, combining the local business and the travel retail business, there are 140 retail POS nationally. F&BP business continues its growth through the strong distribution network mainly in Department Stores but also aim to grow with omni-channel strategy including on-line business (both owned and e-retailers).
For WFJ, there are 41 retail POS including fashion boutiques, and 36 wholesale corners. WFJ business has been growing rapidly by achieving high sales goals and contributing to upgraded brand image. Japan plays important role in developing sales, image, and seamless luxury experience online & offline.
CHANEL Japan is now looking for an experienced digital creative talent to build an innovative digital, print and copy creative team to meet Japan digital environment and ensure company’s digital communication standard.

The Japan Creative Studio is a key function in the Japanese team, supporting both Fragrances & Beauty and Watches & Fine Jewelry environment. It inherits brand experience holistically and put the needs and interested of the customer at the center of everything produced.
This role requires both creative strategy and business acumen, with a passion for development of UX/UI technology and brand visual identity. The Creative Studio Director reports directly to the Fragrance & Beauty General Manager.

This position requires travel inside and outside Japan, including Paris.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Creative Studio Director is not only a creative specialist but also a key gate keeper for visual communication function including online & offline. This role requires agility to keep constant innovation dynamic and enables new initiatives.
Set overall Creative Studio strategy and planning, responsible for its creative project output.
– Define and establish visual communication strategy with high luxury standard aligned with the brand values and company business strategy.
– Following business strategy, propose appropriate creative solutions and collaborate with internal team and external agencies for all creative studio projects.
– Develop, maintain and optimize the online/offline campaign by understanding current and upcoming trends in technology.
– Develop a local vision with prospective approach, feed the Global AD team with local specificities and best practices.
Responsible for Japan Creative Studio campaign’s implementation and adaptation
– Cooperate with Global AD team to validate and implement the adaptation based on the Global’s creative guidelines and material request.
– Promote & develop new levels of interactive experience for Japan customers (including phygital experience developed together with the Architecture & Visual Merchandising team).
– Articulate and track all Japanese digital projects and budget parameters, deliverables as well as communicating progress, issues and accomplishments.
Manage Creative Team and other key stakeholders
– Shape team’s capability in the digital & print environment and influence new process and ways of working.
– Liaise effectively with local key stakeholder (cross divisional / functional team), including the marketing, digital, PR, social media, media team, event team to develop creative solutions for local programs.
– Stand as an inspiring team leader focused on the development of each individual.
応募資格
The ideal candidate will bring:
-Graduated from University, you have strong experience in Digital (minimum 15 years) across multiple channels (web/mobile based applications). You have developed interactive design in luxury digital creative fields, with direct or close experience with Japan market.
-You have a full understanding of the Omni-channel design, the digital/social media designs as well as copy and digital production. You have a strong business Acumen, with the ability to translate business requirements into elegant, thorough, innovative creative solutions to inherit brand image. Your creative eye and your understanding of the luxury industry will be key assets in this role.
-You are fluent in Japanese and have excellent proficiency in English.
-You have experienced corporate life and team management. Living experience abroad would be an advantage.
