職務内容 I. BUSINESS CONTEXT: Business context and operational challenges

Today both PR and EVENT teams are positioned under Fragrance & Beauty (F&BP) Communication group. Brand image is getting more difficult to be managed by the brand itself, because of increasing of new and different exposure through such as SNS, UGC, influencers, and celebrities. PR activities and Event actions would directly contribute or affect the image than ever.

CHANEL F&BP has been very strong in developing local events, but today, many of attractive events has been conducted in luxury and F&BP industries. Today the standard and customer expectation are getting higher than ever.

CHANEL has been a market leader and at a top position in brand equity study, but today we have challenges under highly competitive market situation. To compete, PR team is strongly cooperating with other 2 divisions; Fashion and Watch & Fine Jewelry as ONE CHANEL image.

 

II. EXISTING AND FUTURE STAKES: Areas of transformation for the future

1. For stronger brand and image management, aim to change the structure; integrate the two teams in one as “PR & EVENT team”

2. The team will be managed by NEW PR & EVENT Director directly reporting to Divisional GM

3. It is expected to develop stronger event concept and contents reflecting rich experiences of both teams and the new team would enhance perfection of event execution

4. Closely work with Japan Communication community (COOP Media & Communication, COOP Celebrity, Fashion PR, WFJ PR, and COOP Image)

III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Based on above

Impact at CHANEL

Brand amplification, developing content and mechanics to achieve quality amplification in print, digital and social media, using events, ambassadors and other influencers. It is also about developing quality events (that have a mixed purpose of customer and media exposure).

The PR and EVENT Director is responsible for the following

• Develop overall PR & Event strategies for Japan that is in line with marketing and commercial objectives.
• Ensure marketing insights are incorporated into the overall PR & Event strategies
• Develop and execute specific PR & Event activities. Ensure PR & Event activities are optimized to achieve strategic objectives and increase brand awareness and visibility, while maintaining appropriate levels of brand image and positioning
• Develop the PR & Event budget, and manage overall spend, with an analytical mind-set to assess effectiveness and ROI of PR activities
• Be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with editors, press, stylists, opinion leaders, celebrities as well with media agency in order to execute the PR & Event strategies
• Oversee the Japan PR & Event team and develop/coach each member to strengthen their capabilities

応募資格 The ideal candidate will bring:

• Degree or above in marketing, business administration, or a similar field
• Min 15 years of experience in public relations, communications in luxury business or a related area
• Fluency in both English and Japanese, French is also an advantage
• People management experience
• Team player with great communication skills
• Open and accessible personality
• Agile but cautious
• Active but humble
