I. BUSINESS CONTEXT: Business context and operational challenges Product Marketing is the core of business at CHANEL Japan Fragrance & Beauty Products Division. Our products are incarnation of CHANEL brand value and brand statement. Fragrance and Beauty markets in Japan are becoming more competitive following the end of pandemic era, with new product technologies constantly updated. To support Global Marketing by offering market and customer insights is key to launch products which answer to the market needs and to further take market share.

 

II. EXISTING AND FUTURE STAKES: Areas of transformation for the future It is important to increase both market share and brand equity at CHANEL. To achieve both, it is necessary to have a fundamental understanding of fragrance and beauty products and Japan market as well as a deep understanding of the brand. At Chanel, brand equity is an important metric, and product marketing strategy should be built to emphasize CHANLE brand singularity throughout products which also respond market needs. As CHANEL is a human driven company, ensuring to collaborate with other Marketing teams, Sales, Education, Quality Control, Studio, PR as well as corporate teams such as Media, Digital, Logistics and IT. It is essential to build a beneficial network internally to ensure smooth operations.

 

III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Based on above Impact at CHANEL Planner is responsible for the following:

 Build annual marketing plan of the category in charge based on the category’s direction

 Initiate product campaign and 360°animation in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Education, PQD, Studio, and corporate teams and coordinate related operations

 Manage product campaign forecast of products and related materials

 Negotiate and collaborate with global teams to enhance campaign success

 Analyze campaign results and category sales

 Monitor market and competitors, and investigate local trends to share and make proposals to global teams

 Optimize the customer journey based on products and propose necessary actions at POS The key stakeholders: Japan Fragrance&Beauty business teams, Japan Media&Communication, Logistic teams and Legal teams, Global Marketing teams

 

The ideal candidate:

 Experience in product marketing for more than 3 years

 Experience in the beauty industry (FMCG or selective distribution)

 Experience in product development or R&I is a bonus.
